Britney Spears' parents have expressed their disappointment over the singer's early release from the psychiatric ward at UCLA Medical Center on Wednesday, February 6.

AceShowbiz - Britney Spears is back on the road. The troubled pop songstress was discharged from the psychiatric ward at UCLA Medical Center on Wednesday, February 6 over the recommendation of her treating psychiatrist, yet against the wishes of both her parents.
Britney was admitted to the Resnick Neuropsychiatric wing of the Los Angeles hospital Thursday morning, January 31, being taken from her Beverly Hills home by ambulance and escorted by more than a dozen police officers as two helicopters followed overhead. Was initially placed on a 72-hour hold, the mother of two was, on Sunday, February 3, required to stay hospitalized at UCLA Medical Center for another 14 days.
On Britney's early release from the psychiatric ward, it was reported that UCLA doctors determined Britney did not pose the legal danger to herself or to others, such that they could continue to hold her against her will. Thus, she was discharged from the facility.
Soon following her release, Britney was reported to already back home behind the gates of her private community. She then spent an hour driving around West Hollywood, Beverly Hills and the Pacific Palisades before at last checked into the Beverly Hills Hotel. Her paparazzo boyfriend Adnan Ghalib was also on-hand.
Daddy Jamie Spears who, needless to say, wasn't feeling happy with her daughter's early release from the UCLA, picked her up at the hotel and was able to convince Britney to ultimately return to her Beverly Hills home.
Spoke out about Britney's unexpected release from the Los Angeles hospital where she was held for a mental evaluation, Jamie and wife Lynne Spears said they were "extremely disappointed" to learn their daughter had been allowed out.
In a joint statement given to The Associated Press, the couple revealed "We are deeply concerned about our daughter's safety and vulnerability and we believe her life is presently at risk. There are conservatorship orders in place created to protect our daughter that are being blatantly disregarded. We ask only that the court's orders be enforced so that a tragedy may be averted."
On Thursday, February 7 just one day after Britney's shocking release from the UCLA, a closed-door hearing was held based on the motion brought by Jamie before Superior Court Commissioner Reva Goetz. Was absent from the session, Jamie was represented by his lawyer and so did Britney. The hearing lasted about a half hour and the official word on what went on behind the scenes was only "Everything about this matter is sealed."
