Brad Paisley Rules 1st Round Nominees of 2008 CMT Awards

Brad Paisley's "Online" video has gathered six early nominations at this year's CMT Music Awards and is vying for the final list of nominees.

AceShowbiz - The first round of voting for the nominees of Country Music Television (CMT) Awards have shown a domination by Brad Paisley and Sugarland. Paisley, through his "Online" video takes in six kudos including Video of the Year, Male Video of the Year and Comedy Video of the year.

"Online" also brought in nominations for its supporting characters, a category which is only introduced this year. Actress Maureen McCormick and actors Jason Alexander and William Shatner are the contenders to this.

Country duo Sugarland are running for five categories, one for "Everyday America" and others for "Stay". Both videos are competing against each other in the category Best Duo Video of the Year. Meanwhile, their rendition of "Stay" at the 2007 CMT Awards has gathered them a Performance of the Year nod.

Other nominated videos include Kenny Chesney's "Don't Blink", Carrie Underwood's "Wasted", Rascal Flatts' "Take Me There", Kelly Clarkson's "Because of You" and Taylor Swift's "Our Song". Other first round nominees can be seen at CMT.com.

The first round of voting have begun since yesterday (February 5) at 5 P.M. ET at CMT.com's voting page. It will be closed on Monday, February 25 and the final four nominees for each category will be announced on March 6 except for Video of the Year which will be unveiled at the beginning of the actual show. Fans can then vote for the winners starting from April 11 and see the result at the ceremony which is held April 14 at Nashville's The Curb Event Center.
