AceShowbiz - Keira Knightley's iconic "Atonement" dress is being auctioned off for charity.
The green silk evening gown that the movie beauty wore as Cecilia Tallis in the Best Picture Academy Award nominee will be sold in an online auction to raise money for Variety - The Children's Charity of Southern California.
The gown, designed by Oscar-nominated costume designer Jacqueline Durran, was recently voted as the most iconic film outfit and most of all earned Jacqueline an Academy Award nomination for her costume design for the box office hit "Atonement."
The Clothes Off Our Back Foundation will host the online auction beginning from February 1 on the foundation's Website to March 1. Bidding will start at $1,000.
At press time, the "Atonement" dress was going for $3,000 with eight bids so far.
The Clothes Off Our Back Foundation is a not-for-profit organization which was founded by several actors, philanthropists, and married couple Jane Kaczmarek of "Malcolm in the Middle" fame and Bradley Whitford from "The West Wing."
Variety, elsewhere, is a non-profit organization which aims to assist addicted, abused, neglected and physically-challenged children.
