Heath Ledger was remembered by friends and family in a memorial service on the lot of Sony studios in Los Angeles Saturday, February 2.

AceShowbiz - Family and celebrity friends of Heath Ledger attended the late actor's memorial service on the lot of Sony studios in Los Angeles Saturday, February 2.

The mega-stars who gathered for Heath's second L.A. service among others were Sienna Miller, talk show host Ellen DeGeneres, Tom Cruise, Katie Holmes, who once starred together with Heath's former fiancee Michelle Williams in the TV series "Dawson Creek", Heath's "Casanova" co-star Shannyn Sossamon, and director Todd Haynes who directed Heath in Bob Dylan film "I'm Not There" (2007).

Heath's father, Kim Ledger, was also seen at the memorial service, in addition to those connected to CAA, the agency that represented Heath.

The memorial service which reportedly was begun around noon, was closed to the public. Prior to the Saturday's service, a smaller service was held at an L.A. Cemetery a week earlier to remember Heath.

In related news, it is expected that Heath's parents, Kim and Sally Ledger Bell, will return to their hometown of Perth with his body early this week and will farewell their son at a private funeral before he is laid to rest at Karakatta Cemetery in the family plot.

Kim and Sally have chosen not to take up an offer from Heath's old school, Guildford Grammar, for a funeral in its chapel in Perth's east, a source close to them revealed. Guildford Grammar director of community relations Graeme Plumber said the school understood the Ledgers' decision and believed his family probably wanted "the dignity of a very private funeral after all the publicity" surrounding his death.

It is note yet confirmed whether Heath's ex-fiance Michelle Williams and their daughter Matilda Rose Ledger will fly to Perth for the funeral.
