Rocker and former lover of Britney Spears named Robbie Carrico went through the first round of American Idol season 7.

AceShowbiz - When judges Paula Abdul, Randy Jackson and Simon Cowell visited Miami, Florida to search for the new American Idol in the seventh cycle, they came across an ex-boyfriend of a famous figure in Hollywood who turned out not disappointing after all.

The former lover of Britney Spears, named Robbie Carrico auditioned in front of the three judges, singing a relatively good rendition of Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Simple Kind of Man" and went through the first round to go to Hollywood.

Interestingly, the show that has focused more on the contestants' personal life this season, mentioned no links about him being the ex-lover of Britney during the audition.

Carrico for a fact, was in the group Boyz-N-Girlz United that opened Spears' ...Baby One More Time tour in 1999. Since then, they reportedly had a brief romance and attended the premiere of 'Drive Me Crazy' as a couple.

Carrico who comes up with Rock genre, reportedly makes it into the Semifinals where 12 boys are lined up with 12 girls to compete for the Final slots.
