Beyonce Knowles and Foo Fighters will go on with the show despite the writers strike that threatens to shut down the ceremony.

AceShowbiz - Beyonce Knowles has uttered her intention to perform at the 50th Grammy Awards ceremony despite the fact that the event may not take off after all. In a released statement, Beyonce's father slash manager, Matthew Knowles, confirmed that his daughter and his other artists are pro the gala.

The writers strike has threatened the show to shut down and several artists like 50 Cent, Justin Timberlake, Alicia Keys and many more reportedly agreed to this in support of Writers Guild of America. However, a couple of others decided to take side with the Recording Academy that owns the Grammys.

Matthew's statement that was delivered through the Recording Academy read: "The work of the Recording Academy is vital to the music industry, and we have every intention of being with the entire music community to celebrate the Grammys' 50th birthday in February. Beyonce, as well as my other artists Solange and Trinitee 5:7 have been asked to participate and will do so. We have an incredible Beyonce performance that will be announced soon. We wish the Grammys the best."

Beyonce's participation was preceded by Foo Fighters who had revealed their willingness in performing at the February 10 event. In the same press release, the band's frontman Dave Grohl's statement was read: "We're participating in 'My Grammy Moment' because it creates opportunities. Opportunities to write, compose, play and study music - skills that absolutely need to be passed on to generations to come. And thanks to 'My Grammy Moment,' a musician from that next generation is going to get the chance to audition on YouTube to play with us at the Grammys as part of our orchestra."

The 50th Annual Grammy Awards telecast is scheduled to take place at Los Angeles' Staples Center. No host and other performers have been confirmed yet although rumors are mounting that British singer Amy Winehouse and Kanye West will do a joint stage act should Winehouse is granted a U.S. visa.
