Being left by its screenwriters puts Superman sequel 'Superman: The Man of Steel' on jeopardy as it was reported that the sequel may be postponed indefinitely.

AceShowbiz - Rumored of being left by its director Bryan Singer, the sequel of "Superman Returns" is hit with another speculation. Movie Web reported that "Superman: The Man of Steel" is likely to be put on hold for an indefinite time possibly due to the WGA strike and disappointing returns of "Returns".

Further, according to Variety, the action adventure film was losing its writers as the screenwriters for "Returns", Michael Dougherty and Dan Harris, have chosen not to be involved in the franchise film. Allegedly, all of the problems accumulated to the pushing back of release date from 2009 to 2010.

In the related news, though many are speculating that Singer won't be involved in the project, his spokesman at William Morris dismissed rumor stating, "'Superman' is moving forward with Bryan Singer attached." Still, an insider at Warner Bros revealed that there is a possibility the director won't be directing the project, and that the movie is not on any fast track.
