Being picked up by Judd Appatow's film production house, the comedy movie about a group of friends trying to steal a copy of Star Wars Episode 1 might be facing serious changes in plot details.

AceShowbiz - The Weinstein Company's 2006 film project that has yet hit the theaters "Fanboys" is being reported to be undergoing serious changes. According to Ain't It Cool News, the comedy movie has been re-cut and re-shot.

Reportedly, the film has been picked up by Judd Appatow's production company. Following that, he and his co-producer Shauna Robertson are making many changes and were re-shooting the film about 2-3 weeks ago. It was also said that the main plot point is changed.

AICN also reported that on Tuesday, January 15, and Wednesday, January 16, at 7:30 P.M. in Burbank, the original and re-cut versions of the film will be screened. The screening apparently is done to decide which version people would like best as the audience present at the previewing are going to be the one who decide which will prevail.

Originally, "Fanboys" starring Dan Fogler and Kristen Bell tells a story about a group of friends who try to break in Skywalker Ranch to steal a copy of Star Wars Episode 1 to help their dying friend to watch the seminal sci-fi picture before its release. The movie is directed by Kyle Newman and produced by Kevin Spacey among others.
