Take That, Leona Lewis, Mika each earns four nods while the International is crowded by bands like Foo Fighters and Arcade Fire.

AceShowbiz - BRIT Awards, the so-called Grammys for British music scene have unearthed the names who will potentially win a trophy or two for their work in previous years. In the lead for the British category are Take That, Mika and Leona Lewis. Meanwhile, the International school is dominated by bands like Eagles and Arcade Fire as well as a solo act, Kylie Minogue.

Each of the three British acts receive four nods. Take That whose 2006 comeback album, 'Beautiful World' only comes to full eligibility this year, are competing for British Band, British album for 'Beautiful World', British Live Act and British Single for 'Shine'.

In what becomes quite expected is Lewis being the lead among female musicians, for her second album 'Spirit' and single 'Bleeding Love' performed pretty well on the U.K. chart the end of last year. 'Spirit' was sold for more than 1.5 million in less than 2 months and now the album is up for British Album, while its first single 'Bleeding Love' goes for British Single. The other two titles that she is vying are British Female Solo Artist and British Breakthrough Act.

Mika, who had become a big winner in the 2007 World Music Awards, is slated to gain the same success in this one. His debut album 'Life in Cartoon Motion' was among the best selling albums in 2007 thanks to the hit single 'Grace Kelly'. Beside earning nomination for British Male Solo Artist, Mika also gets nods for British Breakthrough Act, British Album for 'Life in Cartoon Motion', and British Single for 'Grace Kelly'.

Although bands Kings of Leon, Foo Fighters, Arcade Fire and Eagles have received the highest count International acts can get, which is two, Minogue is fighting solo for the category International Album for her tenth studio album 'X'.

Among other nominees in the award are Kate Nash, Bat for Lashes, Arctic Monkeys and Timbaland. 50th Grammy's big nominee, Amy Winehouse, is not qualified for this year's event for her album 'Back to Black' had won in the 2007 event. However, she does share a piece with Mark Ronson this year for her singing contribution in 'Valerie' in the category British Single. Equally, Radiohead who came up with the controversial as well as highly-acclaimed 'In Rainbows', is disqualified after BPI claimed their download sales do not meet chart requirements.

The ceremony will take place February 20 in London, and be hosted by Ozzy Osbourne and wife Sharon. Stage performances will be provided by Paul McCartney, Minogue, Kaiser Chiefs, Ronson, Mika, and Rihanna.

The winner for British Breakthrough Act will be determined by listeners of Radio BBC 1, while winner for British Live Act will be chosen by listeners of Radio BBC 2. Similarly, British Single winner will be voted by public, live during the event.
