AceShowbiz - Hollywood entertainment industry is hit with steroid scandal. Albany newspaper, the Times Union, reported that an investigation is being conducted by the Albany County district attorney, P. David Soares, on some music stars, like Mary J. Blige and 50 Cent, concerning the use of the human growth hormones.

In addition to both stars, other possible recipients included two other musicians, Wyclef Jean and Timbaland, and Tyler Perry, an author, actor and producer in theater, film and television.

"Information has surfaced recently showing those stars are among tens of thousands of people who may have used or received prescribed shipments of steroids and injectable human growth hormone in recent years," the newspaper wrote, adding that "Law enforcement officials have said they have no evidence in their sprawling multi-state probe that customers, including Blige or other entertainers, violated any laws. Instead, they are targeting anti-aging clinics, doctors and pharmacists who prescribed the drugs."

Soares himself declined to comment on that matter nor did he confirm the identities of the stars mentioned in the report.

A spokeswoman for Blige reportedly denied the steroid accusation, insisted "Mary J. Blige has never taken any performance-enhancing illegal steroids" adding that she had not taken any anti-aging steroids either.

Representatives for the other stars, meanwhile, have just yet issued any comments.
