Karey Kirkpatrick reportedly is set to direct and adapt John O'Farrell novel about a man who lives a double life for Paramount Pictures.

AceShowbiz - John O'Farrell novel "The Best a Man Can Get" will be adapted to the big screen by Paramount Pictures. According to Variety, the studio will develop the comedic project helped by Karey Kirkpatrick.
The multi-talented writer is said to be the movie's director, producer as well as writer. In penning the script, he will be assisted by O'Farrell, while he will be accompanied by Kathleen Kennedy in the producers' seat. Further, Kirkpatrick is credited for his writing scripts, including "Chicken Run", "Charlotte's Web", "James and the Giant Peach" and "The Spiderwick Chronicles". Previously, he directed an animated feature, "Over the Hedge", and has just finished "NowhereLand", another Paramount's comedy film starring Eddie Murphy.
Regarding Paramount's new adaptation from the novel that was published in 2002, it is said to be set in London. The story centers around a London-based musician with major commitment problems. Due to his commitment phobias, he is forced to live a double life. On one side of the story, he is a married man and a father of two small kids, while on the other he bunks with three pals in a bachelor's flat.
