Movie

Though has been scheduled to be released on March 19, 2008, the fantasy-adventure film starring Brendan Fraser is reportedly being pushed back by New Line Cinema.

AceShowbiz - On Thursday, January 3, ComingSoon.net reported that "Inkheart", initially scheduled for release on March 19, is being pushed back by New Line Cinema as the studio is said to look for a better date for the film.

The fantasy-adventure film itself centers on Meggie, a young girl whose father has a secret ability to bring characters from books to life when he reads them aloud. However, because of the talent, her father is kidnapped by a power-hungry villain from a rare children's fable. To save him, Meggie and a disparate group of friends embark on the kind of adventure she has only read about in books.

Apart from the plot, the movie that is based on Cornelia Funke's book is directed by Iain Softley and is starred by Brendan Fraser, Paul Bettany, Helen Mirren and Andy Serkis. Additionally, Funke, the original writer of the book, plays the part of producer along with Barry Mendel and Ileen Maisel, while the screenplay was written by David Lindsay-Abaire.
