Though forced to change format following the continuous writers' strike, it was reported that the 34th Annual People's Choice Awards will still have the Grammy Award winner as the host.

AceShowbiz - Though the 34th Annual People's Choice Awards has been canceled on December 17, 2007, it has been confirmed that Queen Latifah will still be the host of the award show. It will be the 37-year-old rapper turned actress' second year of hosting the award show.

To ET Online, the Oscar-nominated actress stated, "It is the people's awards. That is absolutely what separates it from the others. It is an interactive awards show. Most awards are decided by a body of people. This one is decided by the American public - whoever wants to log on and vote."

And, despite the fact that there will be no red carpet, the "Hairspray" star revealed that she would enjoy hosting the show. She gleefully said, "What I am going to wear on the show, I am not sure yet. We are kicking that around. It will probably be some fabulous gown, some funky little outfit, because it is a fun show - and some fabulous hair. And more importantly, I will be in a good mood."

This year People's Choice Awards will feature a new format that is said to be a "magazine style" format as the winners, who were informed over Christmas, are asked to submit a video acceptance message for the airing show on CBS on Tuesday, January 8, 2008. Prior to the airing the show, unlike the usual live broadcast, will be taped. The changing format of the show was caused by the on-going Hollywood writers' strike.
