Kevin Spacey's new drama thriller has been announced to open the 15th annual South by Southwest Film Conference & Festival in Austin, Texas on Friday, March 7, 2008.

AceShowbiz - Columbia Pictures' film "21" is set to be the opening film in the 15th annual South by Southwest Film Conference & Festival in Austin, Texas. The new drama thriller will screen at Austin's Paramount Theatre, on Friday, March 7, 2008, which will precede its premiere schedule on March 28.
About the choosing of the movie as the opening film, SXSW festival producer Matt Dentler commented, "'21' represents everything you want in an opening night film." He then added, "A really great production, very entertaining, a great cast and a talented crew. Plus, we know it's a film on many a radar, from the indie side as well as the Hollywood side."
"21" is an adaptation movie made by Peter Steinfeld and Allan Loeb from Ben Mezrich's nonfiction book "Bringing Down the House: The Inside Story of Six M.I.T. Students Who Took Vegas for Millions." It resolves around a group of students who studied card counting and won a small fortune playing blackjack.
The movie is starred by Jim Sturgess, Kate Bosworth, Laurence Fishburne, and Kevin Spacey among others. Additionally, apart from starring in the movie, Spacey also serves as a producer along with his Trigger Street Films partner Dana Brunetti and Michael De Luca.
Additionally, the movie directed by Robert Luketic is joining other titles announced earlier. Some of the films showed on the festival that runs from March 7 to 15 are Michael Radford's "Flawless", David Schwimmer's "Run, Fat Boy, Run", and Celia Maysles' documentary "Wild Blue Yonder".
