The Shortlist Organization has announced their Long List nominees on Friday, December 21 and the Canadian indie band's second album managed to be one of its nominees.

AceShowbiz - Nominated for the 50th Annual Grammy Awards nominee in the category of Best Alternative Album, Arcade Fire's second album "Neon Bible" brought more good news to the indie rock band from Montreal, Canada. On Friday, December 21, the album that is positioned on number 4 in 2007 NME albums of the year were announced to be among the nominees of the 2007 Shortlist Music Prize.

On the 7th annual Shortlist Music Prize, the album that is debuted at #2 in the United States is going to face fifty-three other albums that have yet been certified gold by the Recording Industry Association of America. Among its tough contenders are Bjork's "Volta", Eddie Vedder's "Into the Wild Soundtrack", Feist's "The Reminder", Kings of Leon's "Because of the Times", M.I.A.'s "Kala", Serj Tankian's "Elect the Dead" and The Hives' "Black and White Album".

"Neon Bible" and other albums listed on the Long List of Shortlist's nominees were chosen by a panel of five 'Listmakers' consisted of two recording artists Gary Lightbody from Snow Patrol and Ronnie Vannucci from The Killers, a journalist Rev. Moose, a radio DJ Chris Douridas from KCRW and the hosts of Hunnypot Internet Radio. Further, the winner of Shortlist will be announced early 2008.
