Gwen Stefani has established the so-called Gwen Stefani After-the-Fires Scholarship for victims of the October San Diego wildfires.

AceShowbiz - Gwen Stefani is using her celebrity status to do good, setting up a college fund for victims of the recent San Diego wildfires which reportedly destroyed more than 1,700 homes and killed 10 people in the California's second-largest city.
"When I heard about the devastation of the fires, at first I felt I should cancel my show out of respect. But then it occurred to me there might be a more useful solution," so the singer and mother of one said in an interview alongside San Diego mayor Jerry Sanders on local radio station 93.3 KHTS on October 29.
Claimed San Diego her "second home," Stefani who's an Orange County native said the city "has always been so supportive of me throughout my entire career."
That led Stefani to set up the so-called Gwen Stefani After-the-Fires Scholarship, which is aimed to benefit graduating high school seniors and college students whose families either lost their homes or source of income in the blazes.
Details of the fund are still being worked out and the scholarship application deadline is January 28 next year.
In addition to the college fund, Stefani also donated about $160,000 in proceeds from her October 30 concert in San Diego to the San Diego Foundation fire-relief fund.
