AceShowbiz - Announcing the result of votes for the best achievements in film-making held among its members, the Washington D.C. Area Film Critics Association listed up winners for this year's WAFCA Awards on Sunday, December 9, 2007.
Most honors went to the acclaimed "No Country for Old Men" as the crime drama thriller scooped up four kudos in total, particularly top prize Best Film of 2007. Three others were those of Best Director for brothers Joel Coen and Ethan Coen, Best Ensemble, and Best Supporting Actor for Javier Bardem.
Best Actor title, in the meantime, was bestowed to Hollywood heartthrob George Clooney for his performance in "Michael Clayton" with Julie Christie taking home the opposite kudos of the Best Actress through romantic drama "Away from Her." Acting names like Amy Ryan and Ellen Page also landed kudos, the former being named Best Supporting Actress for Ben Affleck-directed "Gone Baby Gone" while the latter Best Breakthrough Performance for teen pregnancy drama "Juno."

- Best Adapted Screenplay: Aaron Sorkin, "Charlie Wilson's War"
- Best Original Screenplay: Diablo Cody, "Juno"
- Best Animated Feature: "Ratatouille"

- Best Art Direction: "Sweeney Todd"
