2007 Satellite Awards TV Nominees Revealed

The Intl. Press Academy has announced the nominees for the 2007 Satellite Awards, to be held Dec. 16th in Century City.

AceShowbiz - In the wake of the 59th Annual Bambi Awards, here it comes the annual Satellite Awards, which acknowledge achievements in film, television, DVD and new media. Nominations for the 12th annual ceremony, divided in 49 categories, are in already.

As of the Television Miniseries, the 5 leading contenders are "Jane Eyre" (BBC/WGBH), "The Starter Wife" (USA Network), "The Company" (TNT), "Five Days" (HBO), and "The Amazing Mrs. Pritchard" (BBC/Kudos Productions).

The 2006 drama television film "Longford" produced by Granada Productions for Channel 4, in association with HBO, takes four nominations all at once; The Motion Picture Made For Television, Actress In A Miniseries Or A Motion Picture Made For TV for Samantha Morton, Actor In A Miniseries Or A Motion Picture Made For TV for Jim Broadbent, and Actor In A Supporting Role In A Series, Miniseries Or Motion Picture Made For TV for Andy Serkis.

Everyone's favorite dramedy "Ugly Betty", meanwhile, gets three nominations, they are Television Series, Comedy or Musical, Actress In A Supporting Role In A Series, Miniseries Or Motion Picture Made For Television for Vanessa Williams, and Actress In A Series, Comedy, Or Musical for America Ferrera.

USA Network's miniseries "The Starter Wife", in addition to the above nominees, is nominated for the category of Actress In A Miniseries Or A Motion Picture Made For TV for Debra Messing and Actress In A Supporting Role In A Series, Miniseries Or Motion Picture Made For TV for Judy Davis. Some other nominees among others include "Weeds" (Showtime), "Pushing Daisies" (ABC), "Desperate Housewives" (ABC), "The Office" (NBC), "Heroes" (NBC) and many other.
