Arguably one of the biggest rock bands in the 90s, Extreme, is back recording a studio album and plan of world tour.

AceShowbiz - When one recalls 'More Than Words' crooners, Extreme may came out as the first mentioned name although many years later the 1991 track had been covered by many artists. The rock band that took over music scene in early '90s is back recording after 12 years without studio release.

The band that have reunited twice since their split 1996, will work on their fifth studio album which is produced by guitarist Nuno Bettencourt. Details are still scarce, but Billboard.com revealed that there is also a plan for the band to launch a world tour next year.

Extreme will make a live performance at Boston Music Awards on Saturday, December 1. The line-up has been added with a new drummer named Kevin Figueiredo, who is replacing Mike Mangini.

Meanwhile, the group's song 'Play With Me' that is taken from their self-titled debut album, has been featured in 'Guitar Hero' and deemed the hardest song played in the popular video game series.
