Shock Revelation, Missy Higgins Isn't Straight

Missy Higgins has fueled speculation about her sexuality by telling lesbian magazine Cherrie she's "not so straight".

AceShowbiz - Missy Higgins has made a very shocking, yet not so surprising, revelation that she's "not straight". Oh boy.

The Australian singer-songwriter, best known for her hit singles "Scar" and "The Special Two" of her debut album "The Sound of White," has put an end to the much persistent speculation on her sexuality by telling lesbian magazine Cherrie that she is not straight and believes sexuality is a "fluid thing".

Graced the cover of the national lesbian magazine under the headline, "Missy Higgins on life, music and not being straight," the songstress suggested she was bisexual but refused to jump all the way out of the closet and confirm rumors she is gay.

Asked whether she would define herself as a "not-so-straight" girl, she replied "Yeah, definitely. I think a lot of people fall under that broad umbrella term." She added further then that "sexuality is a fluid thing and it's becoming increasingly more acceptable to admit that you're that way. I don't think it's necessary to have to define yourself by any label. If you're comfortable with who you are and you know who you are on the inside, people will love you for it."

Cherrie editor, Katrina Fox, who conducted the interview, considered Missy's featuring on the magazine's cover as a big step for her, saying "We were very pleased at Cherrie magazine that Missy felt comfortable in being our cover girl and for admitting that she comes under our broad moniker of not-so-straight girls."

Cherrie is lesbians magazine and is distributed in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Adelaide, with 19,000 copies printed monthly, in case you don't know yet about it.

Speculation over Missy's sexuality emerged after the release of her 2004 chart-topping single, "Scar," which is rumored to have been about her bisexuality. She herself has remained remarkably mum on that matter.
