Sarah Michelle Gellar officially adopted her husband Freddie Prinze Jr.'s last name to coincide with their fifth wedding anniversary.

AceShowbiz - Keeps sticking to her birth name though she's one of nowadays Hollywood A-list actresses, Sarah Michelle Gellar officially adopted husband Freddie Prinze Jr.'s surname, five years after they made their union official.

The movie beauty, best known for her role as the fictional character Buffy Summers in the acclaimed television series "Buffy the Vampire Slayer," legally took her husband's last name on their fifth wedding anniversary. Perhaps that's how Sarah would like to mark the momentous event.

The now Sarah Michelle Prinze, according to Us Weekly, showed Freddie her new driver's license on their anniversary on September 1st and "it was so sweet," a source was quoted as saying.

Sarah and Freddie first met during the filming of the 1997 teen horror film "I Know What You Did Last Summer." It was not until the year 2000 that they began dating. They engaged in April 2001 and married in Mexico on September 1, 2002.

As of her acting career, she has at least two big screen projects slated for next year release, they are drama-comedy-romance "Suburban Girl" and action-fantasy-horror "Alice." Off screen, the actress graces the cover of Maxim's December 2007 issue, which hits newsstands everywhere next Tuesday November 20th.
