An arrest warrant has been issued for actress Hayden Panettiere in Japan as a result of her being involved in Save the Whales protest in the country late last month.

AceShowbiz - Widely known as a young, talented, and sober actress, Hayden Panettiere isn't that 'clean' anyway. Claimed by many media as a maritime hero due to her being involved in the Save the Whales protest in Japan last month, the "Heroes" actress has been slapped with an arrest warrant issued by Japanese authorities.

"I learned today that I have an arrest warrant out for me in Japan because of what I did for Save the Whales," Hayden told E! on Wednesday November 14th. "We just found out."

Hayden has on October 30th joined a convoy of activists from the U.S. and Australia who tried to prevent the slaughter of a group of whales and dolphins by fisherman near Taiji in southwestern Japan. The group of activists was involved in a confrontation with the fishermen after they paddled on surfboards to try and reach a pod of dolphins before it was driven into a nearby cove and massacred.

Hayden and the other activists, however, were blocked by a fishing boat before they could reach the sea creatures. The group soon thereafter returned to shore and headed directly to Osaka and left the country to avoid being arrested for trespassing by the Japanese national police.

Tend to brand the arrest warrant as "defensive," Hayden said the arrest warrant could mean "Potentially jail, but I doubt it" adding that "I guess they could come here and get us, but probably not."

Notwithstanding with the arrest warrant, Hayden has revealed her intention to do such protest again, saying "I'd do it again. Very possibly, might do it again" while at the same time also urged young generation to educate themselves on environmental issues.

"Every generation has its own challenge; this is the challenge of our generation," she said. "We must unite as a world to solve our increasing international environmental crises. We can no longer hide behind outdated, senseless cultural traditions and lazy, bad habits that are resulting in the annihilation of our planet's resources and the extinction of our species."
