AceShowbiz - The legendary hero from the Old English poem finally made his first appearance on the theater's screen exclusively as a number of big Hollywood names celebrated the world premiere for "Beowulf" yesterday, November 5, 2007 in Los Angeles, California.

Most of the star-studded cast members were spotted to turn up for the special occasion with director Robert Zemeckis also present, accompanied by his beloved wife Leslie Harter Zemeckis. The pack included Ray Winstone, Anthony Hopkins, Crispin Glover, Robin Wright Penn, Alison Lohman, and certainly Angelina Jolie, who brought along her partner Brad Pitt.

The screening, taking place at the city's famous Mann Village theatre, also marked the presence of renowned VIP guests, all flashing bright smiles during their red-carpet walk. Among them spotted were Oscar winner Helen Mirren, "American Beauty" star Annette Bening and husband Warren Beatty, plus Nicollette Sheridan of "Desperate Housewives" fame, looking glamorous in knee-length gold dress.

"Beowulf", developed from script written by duo Neil Gaiman and Roger Avary, is Zemeckis' second effort that uses a photo-realistic version of the "performance capture" technique after 2004's "The Polar Express." Pic will open simultaneously in conventional theaters and IMAX 3D next Friday, November 16, 2007.
