Movie

The New York-born filmmaker is said to be in consideration to do the superhero flick.

AceShowbiz - Early buzz on possible director for Paramount Pictures and Marvel Studios' "Captain America" has begun to make sound on the net by now. A tidbit coming from CHUD.com is pointing out that "Alpha Dog" maker Nick Cassavetes may be up for the director's chair in the project.

The site appeared to have been sent an email from one of its readers saying that Cassavetes' mother Gena Rowland has indicated so on the ITV Network's show "This Morning." The actress was quoted to remark her son is "now instead thinking of doing CAPTAIN AMERICA."

Cassavetes, a native of New York, is Rowland's son with late actor-filmmaker John Cassavetes, who was considered to be a pioneer of American independent film. Also an actor, he previously directed "John Q" and "The Notebook" as well while currently is carrying the same duties on drama flick "God Is a Bullet."
