The Oscar winner finally joins Benicio Del Toro in the horror remake.

AceShowbiz - Ultimately has his way to return to horror genre, Anthony Hopkins is finally positive to join Benicio Del Toro in Universal Pictures' "The Wolfman", MTV Movies Blog has confirmed.

"I'm going to do 'The Wolf Man' with Benicio Del Toro," so the veteran thespian was quoted during an interview for his new experimental art feature "Slipstream."

Hopkins was noted back in April to tell UK.RottenTomatoes.com he was up for a starring role in the project, which Mark Romanek is set to direct. Following the confirmation, the Oscar winner thereby will play Sir John Talbot, father to Del Toro�s character, Lawrence Talbot, who becomes afflicted with the werewolf curse.

Written by Andrew Kevin Walker, "Wolfman" is a remake of the 1941 horror classic "The Wolf Man" featuring Lon Chaney Jr. as the titular character. Pic for now is scheduled for a February 13, 2009 release.
