AceShowbiz - Amy Winehouse flies free from the cell. The junkie singer has been freed from prison Friday October 19th after being arrested the day before while on tour in Bergen, Norway.
Report on Amy's arrest was first made public by gossip website Holy Moly which wrote she's been arrested for drug possession, domestic violence or both.
According the dailymail.co.uk police swooped on Amy and husband Blake Fielder-Civil's room at the Radisson SAS Hotel Norge Bergen at around 7pm Thursday October 18th after hotel staff alerted them upon smelling marijuana smoke from her room.
And after a careful search, the police did find "a quantity of marijuana." "We received a safe tip which made us rush to the hotel," Police lawyer Mr Lothe explained. "It had been quite obvious that they had been smoking some strong marijuana in their room and guests had complained so the hotel took action."
"We found a small quantity of marijuana in her room. A small team of local officers were involved," a spokeswoman for Bergen police confirmed. Being quizzed in the early hours and locked up in separate cells at a police station, both Amy and Blake were released at 7 am Friday October19th.
"Both individuals were very co-operative," the spokeswoman went on saying, adding that "She is no longer at the station. We released her after questioning her yesterday night."
And while police already "confirmed that the arrest was not connected to any incident of violence and no harder drugs were found in the room," the arrest is surely an unfortunate for Amy as it occurred while she was enjoying a day off from her European tour.
It remains uncertain by now whether Amy will still perform at the Peer Gynt concert venue in Bergen on Friday evening.
