Movie

For those who were not present at its launch at the Rockefeller Center, see how gorgeous and polished it is on the net.

AceShowbiz - New Line Cinema has fulfilled its promise on "The Golden Compass." Following the launch of the worldwide trailer for the movie at the Rockefeller Center, New York City, the studio has delightfully brought in the same piece on the net, definitely to the joy of those who were unable to attend the occasion, held yesterday, October 9, 2007.

Running at a little above three minutes on Yahoo! Movies, the trailer presents more finished, polished footage from the fantasy adventure, pointing out how much the post-production has progressed on it. Plus, it also confirms the cameo appearance of Christopher Lee as one of the Magisterium's members.

In related news, director Chris Weitz has sent a startling message to HisDarkMaterials.org informing he, New Line, Scholastic, and Philip Pullman have concluded to move the final three chapters of the flick to the beginning of its sequel "The Subtle Knife." The man also added that he intends to focus on the lead character Lyra Belacqua in adapting "His Dark Materials" trilogy, saying it has always been his "main concern to portray Lyra's world and her adventures with integrity."

"Throughout this process I have been in close contact with Philip Pullman; and I would not be doing this without his approval. As Philip has said, His Dark Materials is not three stories but one story - the story of Lyra. And where we pause to take a breath in the telling of it is a matter of choice and taste," so he stated. "But I hope that when fans see the film they will find their fears put to rest and their hopes fulfilled. For the film to be judged on its own merits is all that I can ask for."
