Jennifer Garner is in negotiations to star in New Line Cinema's rom-com flick "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past."

AceShowbiz - Seems to have every intention to return to the romantic comedy genre, Jennifer Garner reportedly is engaged in talks for a starring slot in "Ghosts of Girlfriends Past", which Matthew McConaughey is set to topline.

A New Line Cinema production, the project focuses on a charming womanizer who gets visited by the apparitions of girlfriends past, present, and future while he is attending his younger brother's wedding. The guy eventually realizes that he is in love with his childhood sweetheart instead.

Filming is due to begin January next year with Mark Waters directing from the screenplay penned by Jon Lucas and Scott Moore. Meanwhile, Jon Shestack is serving as the producer alongside Brad Epstein, both fresh from performing the same duties in the upcoming "Dan in Real Life."
