Vanessa Hudgens apologized on Friday Sept 7th for a nude photo of her on the Web and Walt Disney Co. said it was sticking by her.

AceShowbiz - In a quick response to the nude-photo scandal of her, Vanessa Hudgens issued a public apology Friday September 7th to E! News, saying "I want to apologize to my fans, whose support and trust mean the world to me. I am embarrassed over this situation and regret having ever taken these photos. I am thankful for the support of my family and friends."

The day before Thursday September 6th, a representative for Hudgens confirmed a nude picture of a young female surfaced on multiple Websites was her, claimed in a statement the photo "was taken privately. It is a personal matter and it is unfortunate that this has become public."

The picture, reportedly taken in a bedroom or on-set production trailer, shows Hudgens standing and pulling her hair back with one hand, smiling and shares the frame with a bed, wooden dresser, and nothing else. No explanation on when or in what context Hudgens posed for the pic, nor does it is said who took the image and how they became public.

Set the record straight on published report that Hudgens will be dropped from the upcoming feature film "High School Musical 3," her representative claimed all rumors on the actress being axed from future HSM productions are untrue.

The Walt Disney Co. meanwhile still sticks behind their performer, claimed the photo would not affect its decision to cast Hudgens in the third film of the "High School Musical" franchise and that negotiations for the cast and creative team were continuing. A Disney spokeswoman Patti McTeague confirmed in a statement, "Vanessa has apologized for what was obviously a lapse in judgment. We hope she's learned a valuable lesson."
