AceShowbiz - Turns out that "Superbad" is still super good at the box office competition in its second round.
Telling about two nerdy high school buddies trying to score booze for a party, the comedy smoothly made its way to once again hold the top position as it scored the highest gross of $18 million on the domestic box office during the weekend running August 24-26, 2007.
Pic for the second time outstripped its closest rivals "The Bourne Ultimatum" and "Rush Hour 3" which added a handful of $12.5 million and $11.7 into their pockets, respectively. Behind them, two top debuts "Mr. Bean's Holiday" and "War" competed tightly with the former pulling $9.89 million while the latter taking in $9.82 million.
Another new release "The Nanny Diaries" popped up next on number six after managing to garner $7.5 million in ticket sales followed by 20th Century Fox's animated flick "The Simpsons Movie" that fared modestly at $4.3 million to raise its total tally to $173.4 million. Making up the chart's top ten were fantasy adventure "Stardust" with $3.9 million, musical feature "Hairspray" with $3.3 million, and sci-fi horror thriller "The Invasion" with $3.1 million.
