Ann Wilson one half of '80s band Heart is delivering 'Hope and Glory', her first album as a solo artist that includes collaborators like Elton John, Alisson Krauss and many more.

AceShowbiz - In her ripe age, Ann Wilson who became prominent as the singer of multi-selling '80s band Heart decides to give a solo career a go. A debut album called 'Hope & Glory' will be released on September 11 featuring guests like Elton John, Wynonna, Gretchen Wilson, k.d. Lang, Alison Krauss, and many more.
For the lead single, Ann stayed true to her Led Zeppelin influence by reworking the band's 'Immigrant Song'. It will be premiered on August 20 and in the meantime, a sneak peek of the song can be heard on her MySpace page.
Other familiar tracks are covers of Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Neil Young hits among many. �Each of these songs holds a special place in my soul," said Ann. "At one time or another every one of them has kept me up at night to the point of exasperation and will not be banished, as I lay sleepless on my pillow. Such songs as these carry me through my life, and they are a standard to which all new music I hear and write must compare.�
In the Zoe/ Rounder Records album, Ann also receives collaboration from Shawn Colivin, Rufus Wainwright, Deana Carter, and her sister Nancy Wilson. On the production panel is Ben Mink who had previously worked with Lang and Feist.
