As promised, Van Halen announced a tour that they described not a reunion but a whole new band with a new sound that will do fans good.

AceShowbiz - With the addition of Eddie Van Halen's 16-year-old son Wolfgang on bass, the veteran rockers of Van Halen are set to bring their set in new spirit and full throttle. As promised , the band announced a comeback that is brought on streets in a 25-dates tour with David Lee Roth fronting.
"This is not a reunion. This is a whole new band," Roth said. "It is totally blowing our minds and I think it will yours, too," guitarist Eddie Van Halen added. "It's better than it's ever been." The 'new' band has been rehearsing for the last four months and Roth said that the formation created sound that is "better than it has ever been".
The tour will kick off Sept. 27 in Charlotte, N.C. and wind down Dec. 11 in Calgary, Albert. Wolfgang was responsible for the list of songs they are going to play. "It was Wolf who picked the song list, and we've got close to 25 of your greatest hits," Roth said. "All the favorites that you've been hearing tearing out of the back of a pickup truck at the Burger King drive-through for how many summertimes."
The announcement of tour also came with a promise that they will head to the studio for a new album soon after completing the trek. "Then we make an album," Roth said. "We could waddle out there and halfway do it. A band like this could totally come in after an absence of this amount of time and get away with a lot, if we only do one tour. That's not our ambition. This is not like The Police. The idea is that it will continue on and on, and you have to get a good start."
Eddie vowed to make sure fans go home satisfied. "None of us want to give you less than our best," he said. "And we are at our best."
