Backstreet Boys in Final Stages of New Album

Backstreet Boys's Nick Carter spoke on the group's latest effort and predicted that 11 or 12 tracks will make the cut.

AceShowbiz - Backstreet Boys are less than three months away from releasing their new album, and they still haven't found the perfect name for it. But progress has continually been made, approximately 11 or 12 songs are expected to make the cut and member Nick Carter said that they are up to putting final touches.

"We are just putting the finishing touches on it and it sounds incredible," Carter said. "We didn't needed to cut that many because I think that we're back into our rhythm of what the group is about. I felt like 'Never Gone', the last album we did, was basically an experimental album in the sense that we'd been away for four years. We were just trying to find out niche again and I think now we're back in that pocket."

Bass singer Kevin Richardson left the group last year, but the now-quartet admitted to having no great big deal in 'filling the gap'. "We're all great singers so we can all cover different ranges. AJ sings bass too. I can sing bass. So, we just cover the parts," Carter added.

The remaining members also keep the door open for Richardson, just in case he would like to return someday. Howie Dorough said, "We hope to be around, God willing, as long as the Eagles. Each of us have always said, since day one, we're gonna support each other and each other's individual endeavors and give each other the chance to spread their wings, kind of like what the Eagles did and come back together every so often and do group records. We're really tight, we're like a family."

The new Jive album will be dropped October 30 and followed by a tour which Carter promises to be "a long, great show".
