AceShowbiz - AT&T Inc. is not to take the blame of censorship on Eddie Vedder's critic regarding U.S. first man George Bush. The telephone company claimed that they hired an outside company to monitor profanity streaming through their 'BlueRoom'.
The Pearl Jam frontman shouted "George Bush, leave this world alone" and "George Bush find yourself another home" during a Chicago concert that was part of Lollapalooza Festival. The re-broadcast of the show on BlueRoom was later missing the two lines.
AT&T spokeswoman said that the unnamed company they hired mistakenly deleted Eddie's comment. "There was no censorship involved," Tiffany Nels told the Chicago Tribune Wednesday.
While it's still unknown whether the company will re-broadcast the uncensored footage, Pearl Jam themselves issued both the censored and uncensored tapes on the official website on Thursday (August 9). The group known for its political criticism wrote, "AT&T's actions strike at the heart of the public's concerns over the power that corporations have when it comes to determining what the public sees and hears through communications media."
