Vivica A. Fox, who is facing DUI charges from March, has been ordered by the judge to stay away from the booze.

AceShowbiz - Alcohol is forbidden for Vivica A. Fox, temporarily. A Los Angeles County Superior Court judge has on Wednesday August 8th ordered the film and TV actress to stay away from the booze until she is arraigned on DUI charges on September 5th later this year.

"She can be around it [alcohol] because of the nature of her work," the judge said adding "but she cannot consume or possess it. I am not permitting her to consume alcohol." And if it works the other way around, she could be forced to hand over thousands in bail money, due to the fact that she was originally released on her own recognizance.

Fox, who once participated in ABC's hit television show "Dancing with the Stars," was charged March 23rd with misdemeanor counts of driving under the influence of alcohol and driving with a blood-alcohol level above the legal limit.

The charge stemmed from a March 20th arrest, at which point the star was pulled over after passing a patrol car on the Hollywood Freeway at 80 mph and subsequently failing a field sobriety test. Breathalyzer test indicated her blood alcohol exceeded the legal limit of .08 percent.

The 42-year-old actress faces a maximum six months in jail and/or a $1,000 fine if convicted.
