Roger Avary is attached to write also direct the film adaptation of computer game hit "Return to Castle Wolfenstein."

AceShowbiz - Video game material apparently still becomes the main focus of Roger Avary after his writing stint in last year's "Silent Hill", TriStar Pictures' adaptation of the popular Konami survival horror video game series.

Variety has brought in report informing the Canadian filmmaker is attached to both write and direct "Return to Castle Wolfenstein", which obviously will be the big screen version of Activision's first person shooter computer game of the same name. Set to be produced by Samuel Hadida, project marks a reunion between the man and Avary since "Hill", which he produced alongside Don Carmody.

As for the premise, pic will likely stay close to the original as it is confirmed that the story is going to focus on protagonist B.J. Blazkowicz and his squad of troops in their investigation on Nazis' SS Paranormal Division in the midst of World War II.

"I've been playing the character of B.J. Blazkowicz since the epic 'Wolfenstein 3D' first bruised my brain and have ever since wanted to bring his adventures to life on the bigscreen," Avary claimed. "It's time to bust some dams, storm some bunkers and blow up some bridges."
