Christina Aguilera's cold is getting worse and she is forced to pull the plugs in Melbourne, Australia.

AceShowbiz - Christina Aguilera is too ill to proceed with her concerts in Australia. The Back to Basics tour had to scrap off its last two shows on Sunday (July 29) and Monday (July 30) because Christina's cold was getting worse.

"I want to personally apologize to all of my fans for having to cancel my last two shows here in Melbourne," Christina said in a statement. "Unfortunately, I have fallen ill with a bad flu virus. This is one of the best cities in the world to perform in and I am truly disappointed that I won't be able to share my show with you all. Thank you for all of the continued love and support and I hope to perform for you all again next time."

Christina was told by doctors to rest since Friday (July 27) but she went on with the show that night to fans' delight. She was forced to postpone the next day show that was set at Melbourne's Rod Laver Arena before eventually not making any of the make-up dates at all.

Christina is suffering from a viral upper respiratory tract infection, a high fever and frequent coughing. She will remain in Melbourne until further notice to determine whether she will go on with her last stop in New Zealand.

Tickets for the Melbourne shows are subject to full refund at the point of purchase.
