The wedding of Usher and Tameka Foster, originally planned for Saturday afternoon July 28th has been canceled, the star's representative confirmed.

AceShowbiz - The wedding is off, in a sudden, and the woes continue. Usher and fiancee Tameka Foster called off their wedding, originally planned to take place Saturday afternoon July 28th at record executive L.A. Reid's home in New York's Hamptons.

Usher's publicist, Patti Webster, issued a statement only hours before the ceremony was to take place explaining the cancellation, saying "It was announced today that the wedding ceremony for Usher Raymond IV and Tameka Foster was canceled. No additional information will be given regarding the circumstances of the cancellation, but we hope the privacy of this matter will be respected."

A source close to the wedding said that calls about the event being canceled went out at around 1 p.m ET on Saturday, two hours before the ceremony was due to begin. Among the reported guests needed to be informed about the wedding cancellation including Beyonce Knowles, Jay-Z, Janet Jackson, and Jermaine Dupri just to name a few.

Per the Daily News, it is reported that Usher and Tameka already had their wedding registered at Crate & Barrel and Williams-Sonoma, with items on their wedding wish list are $8 asparagus tongs and a $4,000 espresso maker. And while no one is sure why the couple decided to call off their wedding at last minute, speculation is mounting family matters and differences about wedding details are the main causes.

"They only decided two weeks ago to have a wedding. They wanted to have it take place before the baby bump started showing," a source told People. But, the R&B star then changed his mind. "Usher's mother [and former manager, Jonetta Patton, whom he fired in May] is against the wedding. That is one of the main obstacles," the source went on adding.

Besides, both Usher and Tameka also "had a lot of differences about the details. For example, the bride wanted barbeque, [and] he wanted to have [renowned chef] Jean Georges cook." The differences, thus, caused the wedding to on again and off again for the past few days. "(Foster) was calling it off because she wasn't getting the things that she wanted. The mother was calling it off. ... Usher was calling it off," the source explained.

New York's Daily News reports that Usher's mother was invited at the last minute, though she did not want to go. The star's godfather, Broadway star Ben Vereen, reportedly had been removed from the guest list because of his view toward Foster. Webster, elsewhere, would not comment on whether Usher and Foster are still engaged or even remain a couple.
