AceShowbiz - Bringing back the annual program to its audience, Discovery Channel is going to once again hold its famous "Shark Week" this year, set to enter its twentieth anniversary of broadcast.

Hosted by Les Stroud, the week-long celebration of sharks will kick off on July 29, 2007 with the airing of "Ocean of Fear: Worst Shark Attack Ever", the true story of the U.S.S. Indianapolis where most of the men stranded at sea were killed by sharks after the ship sank, at 9 PM.

On the next day, July 30, the network will feature "Deadly Stripes: Tiger Sharks" also at 9 PM then "Top 5 Eaten Alive" at 10 PM. Coming up on July 31 is "Shark Feeding Frenzy" followed by "Perfect Predators on August 1, "Shark Tribe" on August 2, "Sharks: A Family Affair" on August 3, and "Sharkman" on August 4, all being presented at 9 PM.

In addition, the shark festival will also have a presence at thirty two zoos and aquariums in different markets via Discovery premiums, signs and screener episodes. One of them will be the Oregon Coast Aquarium in Newport, Oregon, Canada where a variety of events in relation to the Shark Week will take place. There visitors can enjoy "Breakfast with the Sharks" July 29 or August 4 while getting invited to join Shark dissections and talks as well as receiving free giveaways that include books about sharks, trading cards, shark tattoos, and buttons.

A week-long series of feature television programs dedicated to facts on sharks, Shark Week was first aired in 1988 with an aim to explore the dangers as well as the wonder of sharks in a way that creates awareness of safety for both people and the predator. For this year's celebration, it is said that the Discovery Channel is also collaborating with cable affiliates and local ad sponsors to offer a "Shark Week Adventure" sweepstakes with a grand-prize trip for two to Turks and Caicos in the Caribbean.
