David Beckham made a 12-minute debut for the Los Angeles Galaxy on Saturday night July 21st in an exhibition against Chelsea.

AceShowbiz - David Beckham did his duty quite well. The soccer god made his debut for the Los Angeles Galaxy in an exhibition against Chelsea at the Home Depot Center on Saturday night July 21st in Carson, Calif. despite his left ankle injury.

Beckham got into the exhibition against Chelsea in the 78th minute, running down into the field amid huge cheers and a sea of camera flashes. The 32-year-old midfielder made a brief 12 minutes debut after spent most of the game on the bench because of an ankle injury.

Sad to say his getting into the field could not save his team, the Galaxy, to win the game with Chelsea took over the game for 1-0. "The atmosphere is incredible," so Beckham said after the game. "I'm not fit. I haven't trained since I got here. But it's nice to be out there."

Among Hollywood big stars seen on the field cheering on Beckham Galaxy debut were BFF Katie Holmes and daughter Suri Cruise, Eva Longoria, Mary-Kate Olsen, Brooke Shields, Alicia Silverstone and rocker husband Chris Jarecki, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger and Drew Carey.

Beckham injured his left ankle early last month while playing for England in a Euro 2008 qualifying game.
