Final book installment of the teen wizard series "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows" has ultimately been launched.

AceShowbiz - The long-awaited moment is finally coming to life now as bookstores across Britain and other parts of the world brought up their copies of "Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows", the seventh and final chapter of the bespectacled teen wizard's adventures.

At Waterstone's bookstore on Piccadilly in central London, over 5,000 people lined up for hours before the midnight opening, many dressed in various costumes as wizards, witches, house elves, and weirdly, even Hogwarts castle. In the U.S., fans willingly gathered up since daylight outside bookstores in Los Angeles. Readers in the States had to wait until midnight stroke in each time zone, from 12:01 A.M. EDT Saturday, July 21.

After waiting under torrential rain in London, die-hard followers from dozens of countries ultimately could get their hands on the prints, relief and satisfaction emerged from their faces.

"Now I'm going to go home and read the first chapter, then I'm going to sleep because I've only slept three hours in two days," so said Tineke Dijkstra, a 15-year-old student from the Netherlands, who traveled to London especially for the launch. "I've been queuing since Wednesday."

Around the globe, it was reported that a number of shops were giving special treatments in greeting the release. In India, bookstores were opening at dawn for special Harry Potter parties. Across Latin America, bookstores were staying open late for the Potter faithful while Tel Aviv's Steimatzky bookstore boldly opened at 2:01 A.M local time Saturday despite the criticism coming from Orthodox Jewish lawmakers for opening on the Sabbath, during which most businesses in Israel are required to be closed.

As for the author herself, J.K. Rowling was spotted to give midnight reading to five hundred competition-winning children in the grand Victorian surroundings of London's Natural History Museum. Sitting in a large wing-backed chair, she willingly read the opening pages which described about a mysterious assignation, a clandestine meeting and important news for Voldemort.

Already reached the top spot on both the Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble bestseller lists just a few hours after its date of publication was announced on February 1, 2007, "Deadly Hallows" finds Harry comes to a revelation that he is the final horcrux and needs to die before Voldemort can be killed. Resigned to his fate, he sacrifices himself to Voldemort, and is seemingly killed, but learns that the spell destroyed the part of Voldemort's soul he had inside himself. Voldemort is then killed by attempting to use the Elder Wand when his Death Curse against Harry is deflected back at him by the Elder Wand itself.
