Canadian actor Seth Rogen reportedly will executive produce "The Green Hornet" while also finalizing deal to pen its script with a possibility to star in as well.

AceShowbiz - Taking a great leap from comedy to action genre, "Knocked Up" star Seth Rogen has landed deals to executive produce "The Green Hornet" for Columbia Pictures alongside his frequent collaborator Evan Goldberg, Variety has confirmed.

The actor is also reported to currently be in the stage of finalizing a deal to write the project with Goldberg and is likely to topline it as well by playing the title character, the alter ego of millionaire publisher Brit Reid.

Based on the character created by WXYZ's George W. Trendle and Fran Striker for the radio station, "Green" has struggled to get off the ground in recent years until producer Neal H. Moritz made his way to set it up at Columbia in March this year. Moritz obtained the rights to make the film adaptation from Green Hornet Inc., which previously let go the project to Universal Pictures and Miramax Films.
