Darren Grant Keen to
Movie

"Venus Kincaid" helmer Darren Grant has landed his new directing stint in dance movie "Make It Happen."

AceShowbiz - Seemingly walking on steady path in his directing career, Darren Grant has signed on to helm "Make It Happen", a film feature about the world of American burlesque formerly known as "Untitled Bille Woodruff Project", Variety has revealed.

Just sold to The Weinstein Co. banner, the dance flick focuses on a small town dreamer who moves to Chicago with the hopes of joining a prestigious dance company. Things, however, unexpectedly go haywire for the aspiring dancer, forcing her to work in a burlesque club instead.

Shooting is due to begin on August 7 this year in Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada with Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Tessa Thompson both starring and Grant carrying out his task from script penned by Duane Adler. Adler, a graduate of the University of Maryland, is no stranger to dance movies, having penned screenplays for both 2001s "Save the Last Dance" and last years "Step Up."
