Busta Rhymes will be facing four separate trials for assault and driving violations after prosecutors lost bid to consolidate four cases against him into one case.

AceShowbiz - Busta Rhymes gave his defense attorney a big high five Tuesday July 10th, after a Manhattan Court judge rejected the prosecution's argument to consolidate four cases against him into just one. That was a big winning for him for sure.

Busta, accused of attacking two men, drink driving and driving with a suspended license, has been offered by Assistant District Attorney Harrison Schweiloch to have the drunken driving and suspended license cases combined which required him to serve a year in jail to cover all four cases.

The Grammy-nominated rapper, however, rejected the plea deal and it was a fortunate for him that Manhattan Criminal Court Judge Larry Stephen denied the motion, thus made it official for the cases to remain separate. "The two assault cases cannot be consolidated," the stars' lawyer explained in a statement. "The decision today validated Busta's defenses to the assault cases. We detailed to the court that we have defense to these cases and the court agreed."

The judge gave no details for his decision, and the court papers have been ordered kept private and under seal on grounds that they detail the defense strategy. And that's all there is, Busta is scheduled to attend court hearing concerning the assault cases September 5th later this year.

Busta was arrested on May 3rd on a drunken driving charge. Earlier this year, he was arrested for driving with a suspended license, and on a separate occasion on suspicion of assaulting his personal driver. Back in August last year, he was arrested for allegedly beating up a man who reportedly spit on his car.
