Jim Hill Media reports that Walt Disney Studios is holding talks with Beyonce Knowles to have her in its film adaptation of Giuseppe Verdi's opera "Aida."

AceShowbiz - Well, this no doubt can be another great starring vehicle for Beyonce Knowles following that of "Dreamgirls" if the report is proven true.

Jim Hill Media has brought in an interesting tidbit claiming the "Irreplaceable" singer is being courted by Walt Disney Studios to take part in "Aida", the company's big screen version of Disney Theatrical's 1998 musical stage production adapted from Giuseppe Verdi's Italian-language opera of the same name.

"The Mouse is reportedly already in talks with this pop diva, trying to convince Ms. Knowles to make 'Aida' her follow-up project to 'Dreamgirls,'" the site stated. "Starring in the movie version of this Tony Award-winning musical should be a no-brainer for Beyonce. Particularly since the show's title role has proven to be such an effective showcase for chart toppers like Toni Braxton and Ms. Knowles' fellow 'Destiny's Child' survivor, Michelle T. Williams."

Based on a story by French scholar and archaeologist Auguste Mariette, the original, set against a backdrop of loyalty, betrayal, and forbidden love, revolves around three people who are forced to make difficult choices that will alter history forever. The Disney's stage version was nominated for five Tony Awards in 2000 and won four of them, notably that in Best Original Musical Score category for Elton John.
