Robert Zemeckis Orchestrates Another
Movie

Actor Bob Hoskins has told Empire Online that Robert Zemeckis is developing a motion captured "A Christmas Carol" for him and Jim Carrey to star.

AceShowbiz - Set to tell the same story that Lasse Hallstrom is preparing to do at Universal Pictures, Robert Zemeckis is also on the move to make "A Christmas Carol (2009)" for the big screen, Empire Online has learned from actor Bob Hoskins.

The "Hollywoodland" star revealed to the site that Zemeckis would develop the project using the motion capture technique applied in "The Polar Express" and the upcoming "Beowulf" with Jim Carrey toplining as Ebenezer Scrooge.

"He wants me to play Mr Fezziwig," Hoskins added. "He's doing in that way he did Polar Express. You stand in a box with that funny suit on and it reads everything you do...Am I going to do it? Of course I am!"

No word yet on the production schedule or the studio financing the flick though Zemeckis's previous two films using this technique have been shaped under the Warner Bros. Pictures banner. Stay tuned with this site for further details about the movie.

UPDATE 07/07/2007: It has just been confirmed that Carrey will also become the Ghost of Christmas Past, the Ghost of Christmas Present, and the Ghost of Christmas Future aside from his stint as Ebenezer Scrooge. Project will be made under Walt Disney Pictures banner using what is called as "performance capture/Disney digital 3-D" animation with Zemeckis also penning the script. Contrary to Hoskins' claim that he will play Mr. Fezziwig, the studio, however, denied that any deal has been made with the actor.
