FilmIck.co.uk has come up with a scoop saying names like Kate Winslet, Jeremy Irons, Virginia Madsen, and Thomas Jane are all up for roles in "Watchmen."

AceShowbiz - Here comes the latest buzz on the possible cast lineup for "Watchmen." FilmIck.co.uk has brought in a tidbit claiming a handful of names are being touted to round out the list, which "Hard Candy" star Patrick Wilson is negotiating to join in.

Advising to take the scoop with a grain of salt for now, the site informed that Oscar nominee Kate Winslet is in the line for the role of Silk Spectre while her fellow actresses such as Virginia Madsen and Gretchen Mol are being considered to be Sally Jupiter and Janey Slater, respectively.

As for the male side, it is said that Oscar winner Jeremy Irons is getting eyed as Moloch, Noah Emmerich as Captain Metropolis, and Jonah Hill as Seymour. Further, it also named William Fichtner, Henry Gibson, and Thomas Jane as the potential contenders for the respective roles of Detective Fine, Mr. Figure, and The Comedian.

"Watchmen", an adaptation of the Alan Moore and Dave Gibbons 12-issue comic book, has been in development hell for years before finally settling at Warner Bros. Pictures, which then hired Zack Snyder to direct. "Sucker Free City" scribe Alex Tse has been appointed to work on the script with Lawrence Gordon, Deborah Snyder, and Lloyd Levin all producing and Herb Gains executive producing.
