Originally planned for this year, Britney Spears' comeback album is pushed back to 2008 due to unspecified reason.

AceShowbiz - Fans of Britney Spears may not see a comeback album anytime soon as the pop queen delays the release to next year. Although the re-launching of her career is scheduled for this year, the working of the album has come to a halt.

Britney's publicist Leslie Sloane told Life & Style magazine in a brief statement: "I put her on hiatus. Brit's album is pushed until '08. If she has no album, there's no reason to do anything. ... Let's go on hiatus until we have a campaign to do."

Another source from her label Jive Records even added, "I'm surprised the album wasn't pushed back to 2009. Everything's up in the air with the album right now. Jive hated the songs Britney was coming up with, except for a few. The executives are not happy. And she didn't want to listen to anyone. Everything was a problem for her. They wanted her to work with certain people, and she wanted the opposite."

Despite the delay Britney still attempts to give performances in small venues. According to TMZ.com she is looking for two back dancer boys for her upcoming show at Greek Theatre in Los Angeles. No further detail regarding this search has been released.
