AceShowbiz - Excelling with his solo career and being a good helping hand to other artists, Ne-Yo is still terrified upon helping pop king Michael Jackson. The singer who received the recommendation from Black Eyed Peas' will.i.am feels that he wouldn't be able to bring back the "Thriller" sensation.
"I'm not trying to top Thriller," Ne-Yo said in a statement. "Anybody trying to top something that's already been done is fighting a losing battle."
The "So Sick" singer also feels that music scope is getting narrower these days. "It was a different industry back then, a different way of thinking and people were easier to impress. Everything in music has been done now, so Michael needs to find his place again."
As a producer and songwriter, Ne-Yo is known for his work with Beyonce Knowles on "Irreplaceable" and Rihanna on "Unfaithful". Besides helping Michael to launch his career back, Ne-Yo is also writing songs for the comeback of Celine Dion, Whitney Houston and Britney Spears.
