Helen Mirren is reported to be the leadstar in Philip Martin's new drama project "Gaza."

AceShowbiz - Shining brightly from her triumph at this year's Oscar, Helen Mirren is poised to topline a dramatic feature titled "Gaza", which will be set in the strife-torn Gaza Strip, the Times Online has reported.

In the project, the actress will play one of the few Jewish women left in the Strip whose journalist daughter is establishing a relationship with a Palestinian but is shot and killed. Sitting on director's chair is Philip Martin, who will helm from script penned by Frank Deasy, his collaborator in ITV's "Prime Suspect: The Final Act" that Mirren also starred in.

Mirren, whose birth name is Ilyena Vasilievna Mironov, initially worked on her acting career through some stage productions before shifting to film industry and landed her first Oscar nomination in 1995 for her role in "The Madness of King George." Her upcoming movie projects include fantasy adventure "Inkheart" and "National Treasure: Book of Secrets" in which she will play the hero's mother Emily Gates.
